Sleepy Hollow Community Center: Fire Demonstration Garden

Land Culture is partnering with the Sleepy Hollow Fire Protection District to design a fire-smart demonstration landscape for the Sleepy Hollow Community Center. This highly visible project will serve as both a functional outdoor space and an educational model for resilient landscape practices in wildfire-prone areas.

The design incorporates fire-resistant planting strategies, native and climate-adaptive species, and low-resource, sustainable landscape elements that reflect current best practices in climate change adaptation.  Land Culture is developing interpretive signage with Amy West. 

Working closely with the client and design team, Land Culture is developing a landscape that not only protects and enhances the site, but also provides the community with a living example of how to create beautiful, defensible, and environmentally responsible outdoor environments.
